What changed
Zerodha's share fell from 61.2% to 30.2%, while Groww rose from 14.4% to 40.1% and Angel One from 3.2% to 21.2%. Groww first led in January 2024 and has led every month since September 2025; its spike to 52.1% in November 2025 was the month of its stock market listing. Dhan is left out of the share: the word also means wealth in Hindi and appears inside other names, which would overstate it.
Who has led, and for how long
The lead has changed hands 7 times in 59 months. Counting every month since November 2021: Zerodha for 39 months and Groww for 20 months.

The months that moved it
The largest month-on-month changes in any brand's share. A spike needs a cause before it is read as demand: where a public, dated event explains one, it is named; the rest are reported as they are.
- November 2025: Groww +16.6 points, to 52.1%, the month of its stock market listing.
- December 2025: Groww -11.8 points, to 40.3%.
- November 2025: Zerodha -9.4 points, to 24.8%.
Each brand's single highest week of search interest: Zerodha in February 2024, Groww in November 2025 (the month of its stock market listing), Upstox in January 2022 and Angel One in August 2024.
Search share and market share
NSE publishes active client numbers by broker, and Angel One and Groww, both listed, report client numbers in their results. Active clients, rather than new accounts, are the closer match to what share of search tracks: people choosing a platform, or coming back to it.
This is attention, not sales: see share of search and market share, and what is a good share of search for how to read a number like this one.
How this category is measured
The search terms are “Zerodha”, “Groww”, “Upstox” and “Angel One”. Dhan is left out of the share: also the Hindi word for wealth, and part of other names such as Jan Dhan. They were pulled together, so they share one scale. Data retrieved 14 October 2026; the full method is on the index page.
