Who leads quick commerce search now
Shares are the average of the last three months, set against the same three months a year earlier and the first three months of the series.
| Brand | Start of series | A year ago | Last three months | Change in a year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blinkit | 13.1% | 50.8% | 56.4% | +5.6 pts |
| Zepto | 21.1% | 31.6% | 28.0% | -3.6 pts |
| Swiggy Instamart | 21.4% | 12.3% | 10.7% | -1.6 pts |
| BigBasket | 44.5% | 5.2% | 4.9% | -0.3 pts |
What changed
BigBasket held 44.5% of the set's branded search when the series begins and 4.9% now. Blinkit rose from 13.1% to 56.4% (the brand took the Blinkit name in December 2021, so its line starts from zero) and has led every month since February 2025, after Zepto held the lead from October 2024 to January 2025. Zepto sits at 28.0% and Swiggy Instamart at 10.7%. Read BigBasket with care: it is a scheduled grocery service as well as a quick-commerce one, so part of its fall is likely the category changing shape rather than a brand losing.
Who has led, and for how long
The lead has changed hands 5 times in 59 months. Counting every month since November 2021: Blinkit for 44 months, BigBasket for 11 months and Zepto for 4 months.

The months that moved it
The largest month-on-month changes in any brand's share. A spike needs a cause before it is read as demand: where a public, dated event explains one, it is named; the rest are reported as they are.
- December 2021: BigBasket -20.5 points, to 41.0%, the month Grofers became Blinkit and the new name began drawing searches.
- February 2024: Blinkit +12.1 points, to 60.9%.
- January 2022: BigBasket -10.0 points, to 31.0%.
Each brand's single highest week of search interest: Blinkit in August 2026, Zepto in August 2026, Swiggy Instamart in February 2026 and BigBasket in August 2026.
Search share and market share
Eternal, Blinkit's parent, and Swiggy, which owns Instamart, report quick-commerce gross order value in their quarterly results. Read a widening search lead against those figures, and against Zepto's own disclosures where it makes them, rather than against press estimates of market share, which vary with the metric (orders, gross merchandise value or gross order value) and with the analyst.
