What changed

Asian Paints still holds 72.1%, down from 77.6%. Birla Opus first registered search interest in September 2023 and now holds 11.0%, ahead of Nerolac (7.6%) and Berger Paints (7.3%). Indigo Paints holds 2.0% and is shown in the table only, to keep the chart to four lines.

Who has led, and for how long

Asian Paints has led every month since the series began in November 2021, a lead that has never changed hands.

The months that moved it

The largest month-on-month changes in any brand's share. A spike needs a cause before it is read as demand: where a public, dated event explains one, it is named; the rest are reported as they are.

Each brand's single highest week of search interest: Asian Paints in November 2024, Berger Paints in September 2023, Nerolac in October 2023, Birla Opus in September 2026 and Indigo Paints in October 2024.

Search share and market share

Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Kansai Nerolac and Indigo Paints are listed and report their revenue; Birla Opus sits inside Grasim Industries' results. Paint is bought rarely and often chosen with a contractor, so search share here reads the homeowner's consideration, not the whole decision.

This is attention, not sales: see share of search and market share, and what is a good share of search for how to read a number like this one.
