How Colleviate compares to what boards pay today.
The nearest reference points are strategy-firm competitive audits and enterprise intelligence platforms. Our pricing is a fraction of the first and a different tier from the second, because our evidence is generated from the corpus rather than assembled by hand for each engagement.
| What boards commission today | Typical range | Colleviate equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Strategy-firm competitive audit (McKinsey / BCG / Bain) | $48,000 – $240,000 | Executive Dossier · $599 |
| Boutique consulting outside-in read | $10,000 – $30,000 | Executive Dossier · $599 |
| Competitive intelligence platform seat (Klue, Crayon) | $30,000 – $72,000 per year | Intelligence Subscription · $3,990/yr |
| Portfolio ops intelligence for a fund | $48,000+ per year | Enterprise Portfolio · $10,000 – $30,000/yr |
Reference points are indicative retail ranges from public sources and buyer interviews; your actuals will differ. The comparison exists to anchor the tier, not to disparage the incumbents — those are excellent products at a different unit economics.
Common questions.
Why does one dossier cost more than a month of monitoring five companies?
They are different work. A dossier is a deep investigation built once for one decision: multi-pass analysis, adversarial challenge, evidence citations, and a human QA pass on a single target. Monitoring is continuous but incremental: the corpus already maintains a full audit of each watched company, so the subscription reads what changed against that baseline and briefs you weekly. Depth is priced once; cadence is priced monthly. The subscription also includes one full dossier per quarter, so a year of monitoring carries four dossiers inside it.
Why $599 for a dossier, when the sample is public?
The sample is one dossier. What you buy is a bespoke dossier on the target you choose, with a peer graph specific to that company, evidence citations, and a human-QA pass. The engine is the same; the answer is not. The price reflects what the artifact replaces: the comparable deliverable from a strategy consultancy or diligence firm is a five-figure engagement measured in weeks, because it is rebuilt by hand each time. Colleviate amortizes that work across a standing corpus and charges for the marginal run plus supervision.
Is this a subscription trap? Can I just buy one dossier?
Yes. The Executive Dossier is a one-off. Nothing recurs. If it is useful, the Intelligence Subscription exists as a separate decision.
How is this different from a generic AI research tool?
Colleviate reasons over a proprietary corpus of 7,401 continuously monitored companies. Every quantified claim is grounded in measured evidence with provenance, and every board-grade brief passes a deterministic boardReady gate before it ships. See Methodology.
Do you sell hourly consulting?
No. Colleviate is software plus a supervised delivery layer. If you need consulting, we can refer you to partners; we do not run engagements ourselves.
Can I get a refund if the dossier is thin?
Yes. If a delivered dossier does not clear our own boardReady gate, we do not ship it. If you receive it and disagree, we refund in full, no argument. That policy is easier to keep than to describe because the gate is already deterministic.
