Continuous competitive intelligence for corporate development

Corporate development runs on episodic research: a target profile commissioned here, a market map refreshed there, each accurate for the week it was written. The market does not move episodically, and the teams that see changes first act first.

The traditional corp-dev workflow has a built-in staleness problem. A market map is a snapshot; the day after delivery, a competitor repositions, a target's hiring freezes, a new entrant starts taking search share on the category's highest-intent terms. None of that reaches the deck until someone commissions the next refresh, which is usually triggered by a deal, which means the intelligence arrives when the leverage is lowest.

From reports to observation

The alternative is structural: keep every company of interest under continuous observation. A platform that crawls, parses, and resolves public signals into a cross-company knowledge graph does not produce a report that ages. It maintains a position that updates. When a watched company's Revenue Friction Index moves, or its hiring posture turns, or its search visibility cedes ground to a rival, the change surfaces as a finding with evidence attached, not as a line in next quarter's refresh.

A market map is what the landscape looked like. Continuous observation is what the landscape is doing.

What this changes in practice

Evidence-backed, or it does not ship

Corp-dev findings travel upward, to executives and boards, which means they must survive scrutiny. Every finding in this model carries its citations and a confidence score reflecting evidence depth, in line with evidence-before-inference discipline. A claim that cannot be grounded in observable signals does not enter the record. That standard is what separates intelligence a committee can act on from a monitoring feed it learns to ignore.

Put a segment under observation.
